An explanation of the fanfiction classification system that I use.

Rating Information

E: Everyone. Think Disney. Equivalent to G.
PT: Preteen. Mild profanity and/or violence. Equivalent to PG.
T: Teen. Moderate profanity and/or violence. Equivalent to PG-13.
M Mature. Graphic violence, and/or graphic language, and/or lime. Equivalent to R.
AO: Adults Only. Lemon fics. Equivalent to NC-17.

Type Information

General: No pairing or male/female pairing of any rating.
Shoujo ai: (girls' love) Anime-related female/female pairing (E, PT, or T rating).
Shounen ai: (boys' love) Anime-related male/male pairing (E, PT, or T rating).
Slash: Non-anime male/male pairing or female/female pairing of any rating.
Yaoi: Anime-related male/male pairing (M or AO rating).
Yuri: Anime-related female/female pairing (M or AO rating).

Genre Information

Action/Adventure: Fighting stories and/or quest stories.
Alternate Universe: Stories that don't fit into the series timeline. Includes fantasy and sci-fi fics.
Angst: Stories with a lot of negative emotion.
Crossover: Stories with characters from two or more different fandoms.
Drama: Stories with a little bit of everything.
Humor: Stories that are supposed to make you laugh.
Parody: A story that imitates another story, a movie, etc. that's usually making fun of the original.
Romance: Love stories that may or may not be sappy.
Songfic: Stories based on song lyrics.

Warning Information

BDSM: contains bondage, domination, submission, or masochism (or a combination thereof).
Dark: contains large amounts of psychological distress, death, or torture (or a combination thereof).
Death: contains minor character death, major character death, or both.
Graphic Language: contains language not suitable for young ears.
Graphic Violence: contains detailed violence.
Lemon: contains very descriptive sex.
Lime: contains semi-descriptive sex.
Mpreg: contains male pregnancy.
Nonconsensual: contains rape.

Other Information

Character1/Character2: represents a romantic relationship.
Character1+Character2: represents a close friendship.
OFC: original female character.
OMC: original male character.
Year: the year the fanfic was finished (if unfinished, this will be replaced by "last update").
